U.S. Border Patrol officers apprehended a man seeking to smuggle 10 large bundles of marijuana, valued at approximately $120,000 into the country via zip line from Mexico on Wednesday morning.
The attempt took place in southeast Arizona between the U.S. town of Douglas and the Mexican community of Agua Prieta Sonora.
“Agents using surveillance technology detected a person a few feet from the international border attempting to conceal himself in a vacant lot on the east side of Douglas and alerted other agents patrolling the area,” Customs and Border Protection Arizona said in a statement.
“When agents arrived to investigate, they found multiple marijuana bundles and a male suspect identified as an 18-year-old Douglas resident.”
