The Justice Department reportedly filed a court declaration against BuzzFeed this week rejecting the leftist news outlet’s claim that when it published a since-debunked “dossier” on President Donald Trump earlier this year, it did so with what it described as “fair reporting privilege.”
BuzzFeed asserted in its original argument that it enjoyed this alleged “privilege” because the dossier had been part of an FBI probe.
“The Justice Department’s declaration says that BuzzFeed’s Jan. 10 posting never cited any such probe and the dossier itself is not a government document,” The Washington Times reported.
This stunning declaration by the DOJ could mean big trouble for the left-wing publisher.
Published in January by BuzzFeed, the dossier contained a slew of allegations regarding Trump that have for the most part been debunked — despite what some harebrained leftists say.
