Clueless Vegas Sheriff Assigns Probe of 58 Shooting Deaths to Unit With No Experience in Homicide Investigations

The elite Homicide Unit of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has been pulled from investigating the largest mass shooting in the history of the United States.

That’s about 24 elite investigators who were probing the Mandalay Bay massacre with the FBI that  are now sitting on the sidelines. They’ve been replaced by six internal affairs cops, with little training in homicide investigations, per the orders of Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo.

The shocking developments in the already beyond bizarre Las Vegas shooting probe of Stephen Paddock were revealed during the Wayne Allyn Root radio program. Root, a Las Vegas mainstay,  interviewed a LVMPD Homicide Unit insider who blasted Lombardo for essentially sandbagging the Mandalay Bay investigation.

“The best of the best were not put on the case,” The LVMPD insider told Root. “It’s like sending your high school football team to the Super Bowl. Bad things are going to happen.”

The insider said Lombardo assigned LVMPD’s F.I.T. Team which is tasked with investigation officer-involved shootings.

Yet Lombardo for weeks claimed LVMPD never discharged any weapons during the Oct. 1 raid of Paddock’s hotel suite.

So if he actually believed that from day one, why would he assign a unit to investigate the entire incident that deals with officer-involved shootings? A Clark County official has already accused Lombardo of lying throughout the investigation.

Lombardo for weeks, along with FBI officials, claimed no shots were fired and Paddock killed himself. On Monday, Lombardo admitted a gun was fired by Las Vegas Metro after entering Paddock’s room, essentially backing True Pundit’s original story 15 days ago that detailed shot(s) were indeed fired by SWAT.

While backtracking, Lombardo called the gunshot an “accident,” however.

Lombardo changed his story a week after True Pundit, On Oct. 24th, published audio from Las Vegas Metro SWAT. The audio provided a raw and chilling feed from Las Vegas Metro SWAT and confirmed officers did engage in gunfire after breaching Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock’s hotel suite, directly contradicting FBI and police claims that Paddock killed himself.

According to the audio, Paddock was likely gunned down by LVMPD’s elite “Zebra Unit” SWAT force. A SWAT officer code named “Zebra20” and apparent leader of the team’s strike force who led the raid on Paddock’s Mandalay Bay suite reported on police radio that one member of his team did open fire inside Paddock’s room.

“We have one SWAT officer that did fire,” the SWAT strike force team leader said, according to the audio transcript.

Zebra20 then reported no other people were injured during the breach, alluding Paddock was the sole casualty.
