Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), the 41-year-old Democrat who represents Silicon Valley, tweeted Thursday that Sen. Marco Rubio’s attacks against Apple CEO Tim Cook for capitulating to China should be ignored because the Florida senator does not support net neutrality.
Give me a break @marcorubio. Stop lecturing @tim_cook, @sundarpichai & tech leaders about an open internet when you are for repealing net neutrality! You have no shame to be lashing out at them while being silent when net neutrality is being repealed. https://t.co/3vjzNzagDh

To be clear: the communist regime in China is limiting internet access to its citizens in order to quell any potential political uprising, and to continue to oppress the free speech rights of its people. Human Rights Watch explains:
The Chinese government tightly restricts freedom of expression through censorship and punishments. While the Internet has offered a marginally freer space, the government censors politically unacceptable information through means such as the “Great Firewall.”
