Border Patrol agents said that the woman was impaled on pieces of rebar after falling off the border fence late Friday night near the San Ysidro Port of Entry, according to BuzzFeed News.
The woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital, the news outlet added. Her two children, ages 3 and 5, were not injured, and have been released to Border Patrol custody.
