President-elect Donald Trump handed author and TV pundit Monica Crowley her White House walking papers Sunday, an administration insider told True Pundit.
Crowley was slated to become a senior communications advisor in the Trump White House. However, recent allegations that Crowley plagiarized in a 2012 book and her writings for the Washington Times gave incoming press secretary Sean Spicer and Trump transition gurus serious pause to allow Crowley a seat at the White House table.
Crowley released a statement on Monday to her newspaper employer, the Washington Times.
“After much reflection I have decided to remain in New York to pursue other opportunities and will not be taking a position in the incoming administration,” she said in the Times statement. “I greatly appreciate being asked to be part of President-elect Trump’s team and I will continue to enthusiastically support him and his agenda for American renewal.”
