President Donald Trump hinted Thursday that if North Korea attacks Guam, the U.S. will rain down fire and fury upon North Korea.
“Let’s see what he does with Guam,” Trump told reporters, referring to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. If he attacks Guam, it will be “an event the likes of which nobody’s ever seen before” in North Korea.
“It’s not a dare, it’s a statement,” the president added.
North Korea claimed this week that the North’s strategic rocket force is considering launching Hwasong-12 intermediate-range ballistic missiles towards Guam in a “warning” to the U.S.
The North’s military is “seriously examining the plan for an enveloping strike at Guam through simultaneous fire of four Hwasong-12 intermediate-range strategic ballistic rockets in order to interdict the enemy forces on major military bases on Guam and to signal a crucial warning to the U.S.,” the Korean Central News Agency revealed Thursday.
Trump responded Thursday with a strongly-worded warning to North Korea.
“I will tell you this, if North Korea does anything in terms of even thinking about attack of anybody that we love or we represent or our allies or us, they can be very, very nervous,” the president explained. “They should be very nervous. Things will happen to them like they never thought possible.”
Earlier this week, Trump threatened North Korea with “fire and fury” if it continues its aggressive and threatening behavior.
“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” the president told reporters Tuesday. “They will be met with the fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said, they will be met with the fire and fury and, frankly, power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”
The North’s missile program is moving forward at an alarming rate. North Korea has short-, medium-, intermediate-, and long-range missiles and nuclear warheads to arm them. These developments have escalated the threat to the U.S. and its allies, but Trump is not backing down.[contentcards url=”http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/10/trump-new-warning-north-korea/” target=”_blank”]
