A new headline by the AP has caused a Daily Beast writer to unleash an obscenity-laden rant. Olivia Messer is the “unofficial” senior Texas correspondent for the pub. Bill Cosby‘s trial is touching a nerve.
Cosby is on trial in Pennsylvania this week for allegedly assaulting and drugging Andrea Constand in 2004. The actor is being charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault.
Messer is pretty incensed.
“Just for a second let’s treat the criminal trial of a serial rapist who will get away with more than 50 assaults as what it fucking is. As far as I’m concerned, whatever career he had while he was fucking drugging and assaulting women is irrelevant this week. And for the record, while he was raping those women, he was never a ‘family man,’ whatever that means. Also, for the record, my first story for @thedailybeast was about Cosby’s assault of Andrea Constand. And if you’re still calling him a “family man” and thinking of him more as a “comedian” than a serial rapist, maybe you should read it.”
Kyle Foley is a writer who used to work for HeatStreet. He also believes AP‘s headline is garbage.
He added, “He’s been accused by over 50 women and has even admitted to drugging some of them. This is as clear cut as it gets.”
