School district fires substitute teacher who told students that Santa Claus isn’t real

A New Jersey school district has removed a substitute teacher who told a class of first-graders that Santa Claus is not real.

Montville Schools Superintendent Rene Rovtar said in a statement that the teacher is no longer working for the district, USA Today reported Wednesday.

The unnamed substitute teacher “announced to the class” last week that Santa is not real, according to a letter to parents from Cedar Hill School Principal Michael Raj obtained by NJ.com.

Raj told parents in the letter that he spoke with the teacher “regarding her poor judgement in making this proclamation.”- READ MORE
