Rubio Blasts Leakers: ‘We’ve Learned More From The Newspapers’

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio lambasted leakers who have been feeding select information to the press during his questioning of former FBI Director James Comey Thursday.

“This investigation is full of leaks, left and right,” Rubio said during the Senate Intelligence hearing. “We’ve learned more from the newspapers sometimes than we do from our open hearings for sure.”

“Do you ever wonder why, of all the things in this investigation, the only thing thats never been leaked is the fact that the president was not personally under investigation, despite the fact that both Democrats and Republicans and the leadership of Congress knew that and have known that for weeks?” Rubio asked Comey.

“I don’t know, I find matters that are briefed to the gang of eight are pretty tightly held in my experience,” Comey responded.

Rubio pointed out the unusually high number of intelligence leaks coming from the committee, and made a point to highlight how it seemed to only be potentially damaging information about President Donald Trump that made its way into the press.
