Pro-Trump Rally Cancelled Due To Violent Threats

A rally for President Donald Trump supporters scheduled Saturday in San Fransisco has been called off by the organizers due to many violent threats.

The group announced Friday afternoon in a Facebook live video that they would no longer be hosting the event due to safety concerns after speaking with the San Fransisco police saying the rally will be dangerous and that many lives will be in danger.

“After several conversations with the police and understanding the situation of what’s going on, we’ve decided that tomorrow really seems like a setup,” Joey Gibson, organizer of the protest said. “It doesn’t seem safe, a lot of people’s lives are going to be in danger tomorrow.”

Gibson blamed politicians such as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as well as San Fransisco’s Mayor Ed Lee for portraying the event as a white supremacist event.

“We decided to go ahead and take the opportunity to not fall into that trap,” Gibson said. “We’re not going to have a rally at Crissy Field.”

Many of members with the Portland-based Patriot Prayer are expected to hold a news conference Saturday at 2 p.m. in San Francisco’s Alamo Park to further discuss their reasons for canceling their rally.
