Democrats turned on one of their own when they called upon Minnesota Sen. Al Franken to resign from the Senate.
CBS News reported that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was among more than 30 Democratic senators who called for Franken to step down.
But where was the liberal outrage when former President Bill Clinton faced worse allegations?
On Feb. 12, 1999, all 45 Democrats in the Senate voted “not guilty” on perjury and obstruction of justice charges against Clinton, according to The Washington Post.
Almost two decades ago, Democrats turned a blind eye to allegations of sexual impropriety, and declared that Clinton’s behavior with young White House intern Monica Lewinsky was a private matter that had nothing to do with how he governed the country.
No Democrats called for Clinton to resign, and, in the end he was slapped on the wrist for his disgusting sexual misconduct.
