Sen. Chris Murphy said Sunday that President Trump’s legal situation is similar to that of President Richard Nixon just before his 1974 resignation.
“We certainly have moved into a new phase. The president has now stepped into the territory that ultimately led to President Nixon resigning the office. President Nixon was an unindicted co-conspirator,” the Connecticut Democrat said on ABC’s “This Week.”
“This investigation is now starting to put the president in serious legal crosshairs,” Murphy said. “He should be worried, and the whole country should be worried.
