Rescue workers along the Texas coast are continuing search and rescue operations as Hurricane Harvey continues to batter the Lone Star state with dozens of inches of rain.

The hurricane, which crashed into the Texas coast as a Category 4, is expected to continue to affect the region long into the week as the National Weather Service warns of “unprecedented” flood levels.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office reassured residents, promising to rescue all those in need of help.

The following image went viral Sunday. The nursing home has since been evacuated, according to the Galveston Daily News.

A traffic camera picked up the following image, which shows the interstate completely underwater.

President Donald Trump said he was monitoring the situation and that he would visit the state when it can be done without causing too much disruption.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott activated 3,000 National Guard troops to assist the thousands of local emergency personnel and volunteers with rescues operations.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said that more than 2,000 calls for rescue have been made by early Sunday. The city’s convention center is functioning as a shelter for area residents affected by the flooding.
