Gunman causes alarm, closure of Florida voting precinct

Elections officials briefly locked down a voting precinct Tuesday morning after a report of a man sitting in his car with a gun in his lap at a nearby library, police said.

The incident was reported at the Tony Rosa Community Center in the 1500 block of Port Malabar Road, about a mile east of Babcock Street, about 9 a.m., police said. As of 9:40 a.m, the precinct was reopened.

Officers questioned an 80-year-old man, then placed him in the back of a patrol car for further questioning, Palm Bay Police Lt. Steve Bland said. READ MORE:
