Many left-leaning individuals seem to have realized that even if Democrats win the Senate and presidency in 2020, they’ll continue facing roadblocks in the Supreme Court, where the president added just enough justices to create a conservative majority.
Brian Fallon, a former spokesman for Hillary Clinton, admitted as much during a Wednesday event for his group, Demand Justice, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
“We’ll need to meaningfully reform the Supreme Court,” Fallon said before arguing that the institution had become “politicized” in light of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
“Even in the most optimistic of scenarios — where Democrats keep the House, take back the White House, retake the Senate, and are willing to get rid of the filibuster — any new laws from the day of enactment will be vulnerable before this deeply politicized court.”
Fallon went on to portray the court as “partisan” under Chief Justice John Roberts and suggested that adding new justices was a legitimate way to counter that influence. – READ MORE
