The influential online aggregation news site linked in the headline to a Daily Beast story about Breitbart News chief Stephen Bannon, who remains one of Moore’s most prominent backers amid mounting Republican criticism. The Daily Beast reported that Bannon is considering pulling his support from Moore over the allegations, which Moore has denied.
Drudge report founder Matt Drudge followed the headline with a tweet describing the Moore controversy as “a lesson on leaving politics to the professionals” — a jab at either Moore or Bannon, who has frequently feuded with Drudge.
