Rep. Jim Himes on Friday reacted to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte subpoenaing former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
Himes (D-Ct.), who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, said it’s “absolutely not true” that the FBI and DOJ pursued the Trump-Russia investigation but not the Clinton email case.
He said that Clinton’s use of the private server has been extensively investigated, and the findings have been reviewed by the DOJ inspector general and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
“Which is why I welcome the testimony of Jim Comey and the former attorney general,” Himes said. “Every time these individuals have the opportunity to speak in public, the truth comes out. And truth is not the friend of those Republicans like Devin Nunes and Bob Goodlatte, who are just desperate, desperate, desperate to get back to the topic of Hillary Clinton and her emails.”
He said further investigation and testimony will just reinforce that all the allegations are “completely made up.” – READ MORE
