CBS’ Chief White House correspondent Major Garrett revealed on Friday roughly how often he saw former President Barack Obama’s administration attempting to attack Fox News channel.
Garrett, who previously worked as a White House correspondent at Fox, indicated that the administration tacitly admitted it was at war with his former network.
“The White House would always pull me aside and say, ‘Well, really, Major, we’re not at war with you,’ and I said, ‘Stop talking to me like that because when you’re at war with my network you by definition are questioning and assailing my journalistic credibility and the work I do here every day,’” he said.
He made those comments while appearing on The Hill TV’s “Rising” on Friday. “There was never an effort to shut me out of the briefing room,” he said. He added that Fox as a network, however, faced regular demonization attempts by the former administration.
“They had this sort of arms-length relationship to Fox and tried to demonize it on a daily basis,” Garrett said.- READ MORE
