A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) file revealed that an ISIS terrorist who was killed while fighting for ISIS overseas received welfare as a refugee while living in Maine.

After reviewing the recently unsealed FBI document, Gov. Paul LePage (R-Maine) confirmed with the media that jihadist Adnan Fazeli and his family were recipients of cash and food stamps that were provided by Maine’s welfare system.

The governor went on to expalin to the Boston Herald that Fazeli received the state’s welfare benefits shortly before leaving the country on an August 13, 2013 flight from Portland, Maine, to Turkey.

Federal court documents divulged that two years later in 2015, the Islamic jihadist was killed while fighting in Lebanon for the ISIS terrorist group, according to WND. The local newspaper reports that Maine State Police Detective George Loder filed the affidavit in the U.S. District Court in Portland on October 27 of last year.

It was reportedly not discovered or confirmed that the jihadist received other assistance while living in the Pine Tree State.

“Loder was acting as a member of an FBI task force investigating whether other people assisted Fazeli,” WND informed. “The investigation ended with no charges.” – READ MORE
