Eric Trump: My dad didn’t want Manafort’s baggage ‘looming over the campaign’

Eric Trump said Friday that outgoing campaign chairman Paul Manafort was dealing with things that his father didn’t want “looming over the campaign” in the final three months of the election.

“I think my father didn’t want to be, you know, distracted by whatever things Paul was dealing with,” Trump told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo in a preview of an interview set to air Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.

“You know, Paul was amazing. He helped us get through the primary process, he helped us after the convention, he did a great job with the delegates,” Trump added.

But the candidate’s newest campaign manager, veteran Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway, and CEO, Breitbart’s Steve Bannon, are “the ones that are going to bring us all the way through Nov. 8 and ultimately get us the victory,” Trump said. – READ MORE
