A man identified as Andy described to BBC News being thrown 30 feet back by an explosion at Manchester Arena in what some media outlets are reporting as a suicide bombing.
“I was waiting up at the first set of white doors,” Andy told BBC News Monday night. “As I was waiting an explosion went off and it threw me through the first set of doors, about 30-foot” though the “next set of doors.”
When Andy got up he saw “about 30 people, scattered everywhere. Some of them looked dead — might have been unconscious, but there was a lot of fatalities.” Authorities reported at least 19 people died in the explosion and 50 were injured.
Andy told BBC News there was “carnage everywhere.” He said “there was a good 20 to 30 [victims]. Some were young kids, some were disabled people.”
The incident is being treated as a possible terror attack by UK authorities.

Initial reports claimed thousands of Ariana Grande fans ran out of Manchester Arena after hearing a loud explosion-type noise, maybe caused by a technical problem with the speakers or even balloons popping. Those reports were quickly dispelled by the sheer number of dead and video footage of an explosion near the arena’s lobby.
Manchester Arena reported the explosion took place outside the arena’s lobby after Grande ended her show. NBC News reported a suicide bomber with a backpack set off the explosion.
