Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) doesn’t seem to think special counsel Robert Mueller found his smoking gun in the details that emerged recently about Michael Cohen.

Cohen was President Donald Trump’s attorney during the campaign. He was eventually arrested as part of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Cohen took a plea deal related to payments made to Stormy Daniels but was recently found to have lied before Congress about his knowledge surrounding an effort to get a Trump Hotel in Moscow.

Some have claimed this was an effort to cover up a connection between the Trump Organization and Russia. If that were true, it could validate that President Trump had colluded with the Russians prior to the 2016 election.

However, Sen. Paul doesn’t see the situation as proving anything about President Trump. He pushed back on NBC’s Chuck Todd after the host asked about Cohen’s lies to Congress. – READ MORE
