MSNBC’s Chris Matthews went off the rails on Wednesday when he appeared as a guest on “Morning Joe” and blamed Evangelical Christians in Alabama for President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Matthews claimed, without evidence, that President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to move the U.S. embassy there was based on the Alabama Senate race, as Matthews blamed the “crazy” Evangelical Christians in Alabama who do not understand Israel because they have “mythical” beliefs.
“Don’t think this isn’t related to Alabama next week,” Matthews said. “It is related because it’s the Christian Evangelicals down there with their crazy ideas about Israel which is, I don’t know, mythical.”
