‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ Keeps Fox News Ahead Of Competition In May

“Tucker Carlson Tonight” helped Fox News dominate the other cable news outlets for the month of May in total viewers.

The cable news outlet bested its competition with an average of 1.4 million total day viewers and 2.2 million in primetime, with 453,000 in the coveted age demographic of age 25-54, according to Nielsen Media research.

The Daily Caller co-founder beat out the rest of his competition in his first full month taking over the 8 p.m. primetime spot for Bill O’Reilly as the top cable news show with 2,671,000 in total viewers. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow took second place, followed by other Fox News programs like “The Five,” “Hannity” and “Special Report with Bret Baier.”

Though Fox News topped MSNBC and CNN, all three cable news outlets made gains in the same time over last year in total viewers. Fox News saw an increase of 22 percent. MSNBC saw a huge jump with a 93 percent increase in viewership, followed by CNN experiencing an increase of 41 percent over last year.

The three top cable outlets also saw an increase in their primetime viewership, but none more shocking than MSNBC up a whopping 105 percent. CNN is up 26 percent and Fox News is up 11 percent over the same time period.
