Trump On Terror Attack In Iran: What Comes Around Goes Around

President Donald Trump said in a statement Wednesday about a terror attack in Iran that “states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote.”

At least 12 were killed after suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini Wednesday in Tehran. The Islamic State promptly claimed responsibility for the attack, and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have pointed at Saudi Arabia as being guilty.

“We grieve and pray for the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks in Iran, and for the Iranian people, who are going through such challenging times,” Trump said in a statement. “We underscore that states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote.”

While Iran is considered a state sponsor of terror by the U.S., it has not backed radical Sunni groups like ISIS. Iran and its allied militias are currently fighting the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
