President Trump bemoaned lawmakers who “want to grandstand” as spoilers to the Republican effort to overhaul Obamacare.
Since the Republican leadership in the Senate scrapped a vote on the Graham-Cassidy effort this week because three Republicans signaled they would join the Democrats and vote against it, effectively killing it before a vote could take place, Trump still says he believes there are enough votes to pass a healthcare bill.
“We have the votes to get it done,” he said for an interview that will air on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning. “You can’t do it when somebody is in the hospital,” he added, in an apparent reference to Senate Appropriations Chairman Thad Cochran, who is recovering from treatment from a urological issue, but isn’t actually hospitalized. – READ MORE
