The English Twitter page for Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based news publication, tweeted an anti-Semitic image Wednesday in an attempt to criticize the U.S.’s likely imminent decision to drop out of the Paris climate deal.
Al Jazeera eventually deleted the social media post, but Eli Meixler, a self-described “Renegade Jew” who previously worked for The Myanmar Times, took a screenshot of the social media content.
.@AJEnglish appears to have taken down a heinously anti-Semitic tweet about climate change denial.
Cuz deleting means it's gone forever huh pic.twitter.com/bTlxvE7J6d— Eli Meixler (@elimeixler) May 31, 2017
The cartoon is highly reminiscent of other anti-Semitic propaganda, with the grotesque burlesque depicting a hairy, big-nosed man rubbing his hands in a maniacal and devious fashion.

The foreign outlet was apparently replying to one of its own posts, which is believed to include a video entitled “Reality Check: Why you shouldn’t trust climate change deniers.”
This is the video: https://t.co/42JoFqsGZA
Notable for lack of climate change denial global Zionist conspiracy theorising. So…what gives?— Eli Meixler (@elimeixler) May 31, 2017
The video opens with a presenter complaining that, although he feels “climate change is the biggest threat to our planet,” many people within the U.S. government do not agree. He directly references notable figures like multi-billionaire tycoons Charles and David Koch, and Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
While Al Jazeera will likely say the post was a horrible mistake, someone in control or with access to the social media account had the anti-Semitic caricature readily available.
