A Florida restaurant, Beef O’Brady’s, decided they aren’t going to deal with the National Football League (NFL) players anymore as the restaurant canceled its DirecTV NFL package.

Owners, Curtis and Janet West, hung posters outside their restaurant to inform customers of their decision, reported by Fox13 Tampa Bay, reading:

“Beef O’Brady’s will not be financially supporting the NFL this year due to their lack of compassion and gratitude for our American service members. Our National Anthem is one of the methods we as American citizens have always used to show our appreciation to all military service members, past or present, alive or dead. This tradition deserves respect and unfortunately, the NFL does not feel that same way. So, for this season, we will not be purchasing the NFL ticket. Perhaps, it will make a difference if it hits their wallets.”

The NFL debate has stirred controversy over players protesting racial inequality and social injustice by taking a knee during the National Anthem.

As previously reported by IJR, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said President Donald Trump doesn’t view the kneeling during the National Anthem as an issue of free speech.

“He thinks it’s about respecting the men and women of our military, it’s respecting our national anthem, and it’s about standing out of pride for that,” Sanders said.
