Suddenly Bruce Willis Is Part Of The ‘Alt-Right’ Too Now

Movie critics took to twitter to accuse Bruce Willis of being a member of the “alt right” after the first official trailer to his new movie “Death Wish” was released Thursday.

Critics condemned the “violence” of the trailer and panned the movie as “nakedly fascist,” “a tone-deaf idea,” and “alt-right fan fiction.”

However, the director of the film, Eli Roth, is actually Jewish — a fact that makes the alt-right claim dubious. Roth also played the role of the “Bear Jew” in the film “Inglorious Bastards.” In that role, Roth’s main goal was to brutally kill Nazis and plan the assassination of Adolf Hitler and his closest advisors.

In late November, the Associated Press — the preeminent arbiter of journalistic style — issued a sternly-worded guide on using the term “alt-right.”

“Avoid using the term generically and without definition because it is not well known and the term may exist primarily as a public-relations device to make its supporters’ actual beliefs less clear and more acceptable to a broader audience,” the AP’s guide advised,. In the past we have called such beliefs racist, neo-Nazi or white supremacist.”

Death Wish will be released in theaters November 22.
