A May survey of 2017 Harvard graduates shows that nearly 60 percent identify as “liberal” or “very liberal” and 93 percent disapprove of President Donald Trump.

While 15 percent of the graduates indicated they were conservative when they were freshmen, only 9 percent currently identify as conservative. Representation of students who were “very liberal” increased from 17 to 23 percent and the proportion of “moderate” students dropped from 25 to 21 percent, according to the Harvard poll.

Trump’s unfavorability rating nearly doubled at Harvard. While 52 percent of Americans disapprove of the president and 38 percent had a positive perspective of him, 93 percent of Harvard graduates expressed a negative view of Trump.

Nearly 90 percent of Harvard’s 2017 graduating class voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. Only 3.5 percent voted for Trump.

When asked about the president’s policies, 95 percent of Harvard respondents disapproved of Trump’s immigration executive order and 55 percent took exception to the notion of “draining the swamp.”
