Report: Gov’t Agencies Spend Around $1 Billion Of Your Tax Dollars Annually On PR

Federal agencies have spent an average of roughly $1 billion a year on advertising and public relations contracts, according to a report released by the Government Accountability Office Wednesday.

The report noted spending is highly concentrated within a few agencies, with the Department of Defense being responsible for over 60 percent of total contract obligations.

“For example, 10 agencies were responsible for about 95 percent of obligations on these contracts over fiscal years 2006 through 2015,” the report reads. “In contrast, 10 agencies were responsible for about 82 percent of total public relations employee salaries over fiscal years 2006 through 2014.” – READ MORE
