House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday was nominated to once again become Speaker of the House, but a new poll shows most Americans don’t want her to hold the gavel.
Pelosi ran uncontested for the post even though there have been reports that others would join the race. But the vote isn’t final: the full Democratic caucus will vote in January after the new Congress is seated. If there are any others who plan to challenge her for the post, it would likely come then.
And those potential insurgents might want to take a look at a new poll that shows the California Democrat and career politician is not so popular.
“In an American Barometer survey conducted Nov. 24 and 25, 60 percent of registered voters said that the veteran legislator should not lead Democrats when they take control of the House in 2019,” The Hill reports. Just 40% said that Pelosi should become Speaker. – READ MORE
