Ocasio-Cortez Thinks Renewable Energy Will Bring Social and Racial Justice

Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), a Democratic socialist, thinks that her radical Green New Deal proposal requiring a transition to 100 percent renewable energy will “truly deliver and establish economic, social and racial justice” in the United States.

“And first of all, it’s just plain wrong — the idea that we’re going to somehow lose economic activity” by implementing the Green New Deal.

Ocasio-Cortez claimed “it’s inevitable” that committing to 100 percent renewable energy will create jobs.

“It’s inevitable that we’re going to create industry. And it’s inevitable that we can use the transition to 100 percent renewable energy as the vehicle to truly deliver and establish economic, social and racial justice in the United States of America,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “That is our proposal, and that is what we are here to do.”- READ MORE
