North Korea Accuses CIA Of Plotting Biochem Attack On Kim Jong Un

North Korea accused the U.S. and South Korean intelligence agencies Friday of attempting to assassinate young dictator Kim Jong Un.

“The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the U.S. and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) of South Korea, hotbed of evils in the world, hatched a vicious plot to hurt the supreme leadership of the [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] and those acts have been put into the extremely serious phase of implementation after crossing the threshold of the DPRK,” the state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Friday.

North Korea’s Ministry of State Security claims that U.S. and South Korean agents paid a North Korean laborer working abroad to detonate a bomb filled with “radioactive” and “nano poisonous” substances in Pyongyang during a military parade — perhaps the one held on April 15 marking the 105th anniversary of the birth of North Korean founder Kim Il Sung.

Pyongyang regularly accuses the U.S. and South Korea of attempting to destroy the regime, but Friday’s claims were unusually specific and detailed.

North Korea asserts that the U.S. and South Korea hired an “ideologically-corrupted” man surnamed Kim and turned him into “a terrorist full of repugnance and revenge against the supreme leadership of the DPRK.” The hitman was reportedly a lumberjack working in the Khabarovsk Territory of Russia.

The U.S. and South Korean intelligence agencies “hatched a plot of letting human scum Kim commit bomb terrorism targeting the supreme leadership during events at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun at a military parade and public procession after his return home,” KCNA reported.

The intelligence agencies “told him that assassination by use of biochemical substances including radioactive substance and nano poisonous substance is the best method that does not require access to the target, their lethal results will appear after six or 12 months,” the state-run North Korean media agency explained. “They handed him over $20,000 on two occasions and a satellite transmitter-receiver and let him get versed in it.”

North Korea claims that it “ferreted out” and foiled the plot, which it called a “last-ditch effort” of the imperialists.”

The accusations come at a time of heightened tension between Washington and Pyongyang over America’s movement of strategic military assets into Northeast Asia and North Korea’s relentless pursuit of ballistic missiles with greater ranges and nuclear weapons with higher explosive yields.

The North has threatened to wipe out the CIA and NIS. A “Korean-style anti-terrorist attack will be commenced from this moment to sweep away the intelligence and plot-breeding organizations of the U.S. imperialists and the puppet clique,” KCNA warned.

North Korea’s claims have not yet been confirmed.
