New York Times Report: Bill and Hillary Were Key Players in Weinstein Cover-Up

An exclusive report released Tuesday by The New York Times detailed that former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have been key players in the cover-up of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct scandal.

The Times reported that the Clintons and Weinstein shared a friendship rife with financial favors.

During the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Weinstein reportedly donated $10,000 to Bill Clinton after he had faced impeachment. Weinstein also acted as an informal adviser and fund-raiser during Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senate campaign, according to The Times.

Weinstein was also reportedly present in the hotel suite where Hillary celebrated after her Senate victory in 2000.

While it is unclear if the allegations of Weinstein’s sexual misconduct ever reached the Clintons, two prominent women claim to have warned Hillary’s campaign during her 2008 and 2016 bids for the presidency.

“I just want you to let you know that Harvey’s a rapist and this is going to come out at some point,” said “Girls” actress Lena Dunham.
