New Trend Involves People Buying Upside-Down Christmas Trees for Up to $1000

Now that we have passed Thanksgiving and the Christmas season is upon us, many people have begun to shop for a traditional Christmas tree with which to decorate their home for the holiday.

The upside-down trees — which can be found at retailers such as Bed, Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, Kohls, Target and Walmart, among others — generally range in price from as low as $150 to as much as $1,000.

Incredibly, some stores have already begun to sell out of their inventory of the increasingly popular trees, but many people are confused by them and their purpose, to say the least.

According to Inc., the upside-down trees may appear ridiculous and unnecessary, but there are actually legitimate reasons to have one, not to mention a rather historic and religious tradition behind them that some find incredibly interesting.

First, a proper upside-down Christmas tree is typically hung from the ceiling via a special bracket, which transforms the tree into a sort of lush chandelier that can be gorgeous to behold, particularly once decorated.
