A new poll released on Thursday from ABC15 Arizona and OH Predictive Insights shows Arizona Congresswoman Martha McSally solidifying her lead in the close senatorial race against Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema. The poll found McSally garnering 52% of the vote while Sinema got 45%. 2% of voters were undecided; 1% said they’d vote for Green Party candidate Angela Green.
Mike Noble, the head pollster for OH Predictive Insights, said the key factors in the race are the recent confirmation fight over Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court and the migrant caravan headed to the United States. He said, “If Kavanaugh didn’t happen I think it’d be an extremely tight race. If not, I’d actually say the edge would go to Sinema but after seeing the polling — seeing the results —everything else — I think that McSally will end up winning coming election night.”
According to the Arizona Capitol Times, Republicans have a 153,000-registrant edge in the state.
On Wednesday, Sens. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) and Susan Collins (R-ME), both of whom played key roles in the confirmation of Kavanaugh, came out to Arizona to cement support for McSally. They visited St. Mary’s Food Bank in West Phoenix, after which they spoke to The Arizona Republic to voice their support. Collins said, “I am impressed with her knowledge, her confidence, her commitment, her energy, and most of all, her integrity.” She added that she first met McSally years ago when Kyl introduced them. – READ MORE
