MSNBC host says New York ‘lucky’ terror suspects used bombs ‘rather than guns’

MSNBC journalist Chris Hayes showed gratitude on Monday that suspected terrorists responsible for bombings in New York and New Jersey over the weekend used bombs instead of guns.

Twitter users were stunned on Monday when Mr. Hayes responded to the arrest of suspected terrorist Ahmad Khan Rahami in Linden, New Jersey. The “All In With Chris Hayes” host said 29 people injured in Saturday’s blast in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood were “lucky” that a pressure-cooker bomb was used as an improvised explosive device.

“Fantastic news that he was taken alive,” Mr Hayes said of the 28-year-old naturalized citizen from Afghanistan. “We’re also very very lucky that the attackers tried to use explosives rather than guns.”

Followers on Twitter were quick to share images of the April 15, 2013, Islamic terror attack perpetrated by brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The massacre, which also used pressure-cooker bombs, killed three people and wounded 264. – READ MORE
