Mike Vick is officially back in football.

Fox Sports announced Friday they had hired the former quarterback to serve as an NFL studio analyst for the upcoming 2017 season.

Vick has been quietly making his way back onto the NFL scene over the past year. He started the summer as a coaching intern for the Kansas City Chiefs. According to USA Today, Fox Sports will make an additional announcement on Sunday. Vick will also make appearances on Fox Sports 1 studio shows.

Vick told USA Today, “I’m very excited. Over the last seven or eight months, I’ve done a lot of interviews, and I think I’ve gotten better as I’ve been put in those situations more often. Things really came together (with Fox) over the last couple months. They have shows that I have always watched and admired. My friends and family are thankful and proud of me.”

John Entz, Fox Sports president of production and executive producer, said that they believe in him as an analyst and that he has the potential to do very well with this new position.

Although Vick did not play last season, he retired as a member of the Atlanta Falcons in June.
