Mark Cuban Finally Reveals What It Would Take For Him To Run Against Trump

Business mogul Mark Cuban said he would have no problem running against President Donald Trump in 2020, provided he had a viable idea to replace the Affordable Care Act, according to a Wednesday statement.

“As I have said before, I would only run if I can come up with solutions for health care, the plight of working families, and reducing the stress levels of our country. It’s possible. When I have something to offer, I will,” Cuban told Business Insider.

The comments came after Public Policy Polling published the results of a head-to-head poll that shows the controversial businessman and TV personality beating the president if the race were held today. Cuban won the support of 42 percent of respondents, compared to only 38 percent who supported Trump. The remaining 20 percent remained undecided in the left-leaning polling company’s survey.

Perhaps surprisingly, 8 percent of those who reported they voted for Trump in the 2016 presidential election supported Cuban instead of their first pick.

Wednesday’s remarks aren’t the first time Cuban openly flirted with the idea of running for the White House in. He asserted that he would be open to the possibility of running for office, should he ever think the president needs to be replaced.

“What I do depends on how things play out for the country,” the businessman said in March.

Public Policy Polling surveyed 887 registered voters over the weekend. The poll carried a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points in either direction.
