A Greendale man is spending his 21st birthday behind bars, accused of raping and molesting an 11-year-old girl.
Travis McAdams had his first encounter with the underage girl online, said Dearborn County Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Deddens. Detectives say he met her on the Tinder dating App.
“It’s my understanding the 11-year-old had portrayed herself as a 16-year-old on the Tinder app and once they had met through Tinder they began to chat through SnapChat,” said Deddens.
The Probable Cause Affidavit states that the 11-year-old and McAdams continued to communicate and sometime in late December 2017 or early January 2018 the two met at the Greendale Cinema. The 11-year-old told detectives she walked away to use the bathroom and when she walked out of the restroom she stated that McAdams put his arm around her neck, covered her mouth and took her to the back of the building where he raped her.
Police after the alleged rape the 11-year-old met up with McAdams again. Det. Sgt. Kendle Davis with Greendale police says McAdams was aware of the child’s true age and continued to see her knowing that she was 11 years old. – READ MORE
