A San Diego abortion doctor will retire his license after being accused of gross negligence and inappropriate behavior with a pro-life protester.
The Medical Board of California alleged that Dr. Robert Santella had prescribed too many narcotics to at least six of his patients and botched an abortion, as well as gotten extremely “aggressive” and “outrageous” with a protestor outside the clinic in June 2016, according to NBC San Diego.
The Medical Board detailed and filed its allegations, describing Santella’s surprising behavior. The doctor got extremely close to protestor Zephaniah Mel’s face, blowing on him and making guttural noises before saying, “I love it [abortion] … yeah I do.”
Santella held a pair of scissors close to Mel’s face throughout their altercation.
The scissors were “very close to the top of my chest, if not my neck,” Mel told NBC San Diego. “It was a very intense confrontation.”
The doctor pushed him so close to the rail that “I could have tipped over. I could have fallen from the second floor,” Mel added.
Santella said he regrets his behavior and will give up his license to practice instead of going to court to fight the accusations. The allegations are the third in a series from the California Medical Board. Santella was given five years probation for “gross negligence and incompetence” in 1983, and four years probation in 2000 for inadequate medical records.[contentcards url=”http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/23/doctor-who-said-he-loves-killing-babies-surrenders-medical-license/” target=”_blank”]
