Chick-Fil-A Rescues Grandparents In Houston After Call For Help

An elderly couple trapped in their Houston home were rescued earlier this week after calling a local Chick-fil-A for help.

Karen and J.C. Spencer planned to stick-it-out through Hurricane Harvey as the hurricane rocked Houston until Monday when the couple’s home started taking in a significant amount of water, ABC News reported.

Unsure of who to call as flood waters continued to rise, the elderly couple decided to call Chick-fil-A.

“We had to get out of there so I called Chick-fil-A, now that sounds kind of funny,” J.C. Spencer said in an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday.

The manager of the Chick-fil-A quickly organized a rescue of the elderly couple after receiving word they needed help.

“I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg and a boat. And can you believe that one of the managers of Chick-fil-A, she sent her husband to pick us up and we are so grateful.”

The couple was in the process of figuring out what small valuables they could take with them on the small rescue boat from Chick-fil-A when two men showed up on jet skis and offered to help in the evacuation process.

The two men, Keith Christensen and Winston Savice, Jr., were reunited with Karen and J.C. on Wednesday who took the opportunity to thank them for rescuing them.

The manager of the Chick-Fil-A has not been identified.
