Camden, NJ Catholic schools to players, coaches: Stand for National Anthem or be suspended

The Diocese of Camden, New Jersey has issued an edict stating that any player or coach who doesn’t “demonstrate appropriate respect” during the playing of the National Anthem will face a two-game suspension, and subsequent violations could result in dismissal.

Philly.com reports that Mary P. Boyle, the superintendent of the Diocese of Camden schools, sent out the memo to school administrators in response to the controversy effected by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has refused to to stand for the Star Spangled Banner as a protest against racial injustice in the US. – READ MORE
