Border patrol confiscates 100 pounds of meth

Four people were arrested by the El Centro Sector Border Patrol on suspicion of drug smuggling this weekend, and officials confiscated more than 100 pounds of methamphetamine.

First, on Saturday afternoon, two people passed through Border Patrol’s Highway 86 checkpoint. A dog alerted agents to the vehicle, and on further inspection, officials found 39 packages of meth inside the car’s rocker panels.

The 42.9 pounds of meth had an estimated street value of $171,600, according to the border patrol. – READ MORE
