Report: Trump ‘100 Percent’ Interested In Attending Mayweather-McGregor Fight

UFC president Dana White got a call from the White House this week saying that President Trump has expressed a desire to attend the fight between legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather and MMA fighter Conor McGregor, USA Today reports.

The much-anticipated bout has been promoted for the greater part of a year, and is scheduled for Aug. 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

White suggested that a Trump visit is unlikely due to the massive amount of extra security it would entail to host the president.

“[Trump] feels like he’ll ruin events, he’ll ruin the event if he shows up,” said White. “Secret Service is going to have to go through the place, shut down streets and create crazy traffic.”

White expects tickets to sell out at an unprecedented rate. However, he admitted he would reserve space for five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. White is an avid Patriots fan and said Tom “can have 10 tickets if he wants.”

The Mayweather versus McGregor fight has already received an unparalleled amount of media attention. If the president changes his mind and decides to go to the fight, attendance will be groundbreaking.
