A majority of President Trump’s supporters in a new poll agree with the president’s claim that the media is “the enemy of the American people,” according to new research from YouGov.
According to the data, more than 60 percent of “Trump approvers” said they agreed with the statement, while just about 15 percent of “Trump disapprovers” said they agreed with it, according to BuzzFeed.
The survey also showed that trust and confidence in the press falls roughly along party lines, with 74 percent of Democrats or those who lean Democratic saying they have a “great deal” or “a fair amount” of confidence in the press, a 23-point increase from last year. Among Republican and Republican-leaning respondents, only 19 percent said the same.
