Poll: Here’s How Many Americans Will Spend Turkey Day Avoiding Politics at All Costs

On Thursday, Americans nationwide will slip into a pair of stretchy pants, fill their plates, and gather around the table for the feast known as Thanksgiving.

While conversations should be confined to “Can you pass the stuffing?” and “Is there another pie?” for some, politics may be at play.

So how many people will try to steer the conversation toward turkey instead of Trump? According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll reported by the New York Post, about one-third of Americans will “actively avoid political conversations” over the holidays.

While religion and money have generally been topics that shouldn’t be addressed at the dinner table, given the political climate, those are reportedly preferable to politics.
