PHOTOS: ‘Pillars of destruction’ spotted in deep space
Breathtaking new images dubbed “pillars of destruction” from the Carina Nebula were released Wednesday by the European Southern Observatory.
The spires and pillars are actually vast clouds of dust and gas within a hub of star formation some 7,500 light years from Earth, ESO said. The massive stars within the star formation region slowly destroy the pillars from which they are born. – READ MORE
